Proposed Merger of GP Practice NHS Contracts
Patients will be aware that the three practices that make up Modality Lewisham, namely Bellingham Green Surgery, South Lewisham Group Practice and The Jenner Practice, are planning to merge and form a single super practice.
The aim of the merger is to deliver sustainable general practices services to the local population of nearly 38,000 patients.
The proposal will NOT mean the closure of any of the practice sites or substantial change in doctors and nurses patients see at their practices.
It will benefit patients in that they will be able to visit any of our sites to receive care should it be more convenient to them.
The merger will NOT create any staff redundancies.
The proposed merger time line is between May 2022 and June 2022.

Our practice is now focusing on rolling out the COVID booster vaccine. This may mean that some of our routine services including eConsult are unavailable for a short period of time, but we are still here for you if you need us for urgent care. If you are eligible for your booster it is vital you get it ASAP, but please do not call the practice regarding this. Please book using the text message we have sent you, or you can book online or find a walk-in clinic by visiting the NHS website, click here.
We are encouraging all our patients to use the FREE ‘AskFirst App’ to access useful medical advice with the symptom checker. You can book telephone appointments with your nurse, with a physio or with mental health specialists and book an appointment at GPEA (extended Access). If you haven't already, please download it from your app store.

We hope to use our surgery website as a way of presenting all our patients with an up to date resource for all information relating to our practice. We will keep it current with any news, developments & details that are relevant to the practice & our patients.
As well as a source of information about our Practice, the staff & the services we provide, we hope you use the website as a useful resource with links to other reliable websites for health related information. If there is topical health information we will also add this to the website.
Have a look around our website and please do send us some feedback. We can use your thoughts to improve our online services & further develop the website to make it a more useful, practical application for our patients.
You will still need to wear a face covering in this building. Our methods for booking a call to speak to a GP are still the same, you should call the surgery if you do not have internet access.

The surgery uses Doctaly assist to monitor monitor your blood pressure/asthma/COPD/mental health remotely.
The service has been created by the NHS and Doctaly to help monitor patients at home who have certain long term conditions such as hypertension. It is designed to help NHS healthcare professionals safely manage and monitor these patients without the patients needing to physically visit a GP practice. Many of these patients are particularly at risk from COVID-19, therefore home monitoring can help keep them safe.
This practice works with LGBT foundation's Pride In Practice to ensure we provide and meet the needs of our LGBT patients.
